Investing in good skincare products is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to your quest to slowing the signs of aging. The whole process starts from the inside complemented with outside factors.
It’s equally important therefore to know the right diet to achieve overall health and eating foods that are known to boost skin health.
Generally, what’s good for the body is complementary to slowing the signs of aging. The food pyramid shows that pure purified water occupies the bottom part meaning you need to drink up and hydrate your skin everyday. At least 8 glasses of water a day will suffice but if you’re in a tropical country, up the ante by drinking 10 glasses of water a day. Water aids digestion and helps flush out toxins from the body.
Get enough complex carbohydrates into your diet everyday. Good choices are whole grain cereals, barley, oats, rice and pasta. These are energy booster and will keep you on your toes all day to tackle your activities.
Your parents were right when they told you that fruits and vegetables are good for you. So incorporate it in your diet now. Add legumes and nuts to enhance good digestion and strengthen the immune system. This food group packs up antioxidants in your body to go against the harmful effects of free radicals, premature aging included.
Organic eggs, olive oil and fat from fish or poultry are also good anti-aging food. Be conscious about the oil that you use. Some oils are actually good for the body.
In moderation, include in your diet deep sea cold water fish and free range of poultry twice a week. Of course you can satisfy your sweet tooth too but make sure that you limit your intake to one serving a week.
