Boost your sex drive with the Goji Berry.
A SUPER-FRUIT said to slow ageing, boost your sex drive and fight cancer today hits shops across Scotland.
Goji berries are described as “natural Viagra” and are already a hit in the US, with fans said to include fitness freak Madonna.
The small red fruit, grown in the Himalayas, contains 500 times more vitamin C than oranges.
Its taste is a cross between a cherry and a cranberry and it has five times more iron than an average steak.
It is also packed full of skin-boosting anti-oxidants, leading it to be called a “cellulite assassin”.
Top dermatologist Howard Murad said: “Goji berries are one of the most nutritionally dense foods on the market.
“If you eat foods rich in things like that, they do make a difference.”
The dried fruit – which you can snack on like raisins, blend into juice or use in baking – will cost an average £4 for only 125g, just over a quarter of a pound.
Cooke, who is in charge of buying wholefoods for Tesco, added: “Goji is currently one of the hottest new food trends sweeping America.
“We found out about the berries while we were researching functional foods as there is a growing demand for them now in Britain.
“They are an ancient Himalayan health phenomenon.
“But they have remained one of the area’s best-kept secrets because of the remoteness of the region.
“The area’s climate and altitude allows the berry to grow in unique conditions and it is only now that the Western world is beginning to find out about the many herbs, nutrients and natural medicines that exist there.”
Chinese health experts have raved about the berries’ ability to rev up someone’s sex drive for years.
